Brain Training Games are perhaps one of the most interesting aspects
of Brain Training. The new industry has seen a number of games hit the market in the form of online or
pc computer games and games designed for video game systems. Probably the most popular are Nintendo’s
Brain Age games due to their advertising campaign. However, they are not alone as there are a number of
other companies on the market. This list includes games from companies like Lumosity, Happy Neuron, CogniFit,
and Posit Science. These games are particularly interesting because they are the first attempt to improve
brain training based on the new research.
My goal is to give candid reviews of these games to give you an idea of
what you can expect with each one. With this information, you can
choose the brain training games that will fit your schedule and provide you with the most value.
As this is a new industry, we can also expect to see a variety of
changes over the next few years. This means you will likely see adjustments to the games as companies tweak
their games to meet the public's demand for certain features and options. Also, additional companies
are likely to join the current market which will lead to more competition. After a few years, you can
likely expect to see some mergers of existing companies in the near future. However, the focus of
these games will remain in two areas: (1) prevent cognitive decline of the elderly and (2) promote optimum
memory for those who are interested in improving their skills. I will be watching the games and the
industry closely and give you my honest opinions on what changes will mean.
