Brain Training Game- Key Factors In Choosing A Good One

Choosing the right brain training game is very important.  Not all games are created equal.  In fact, some games are more geared towards entertainment rather than providing any true brain training.  Since most people are really after getting better brain functioning, it is important to know a few things about the different games so you get the right one for you.  Here, are a few things to consider:

1.  Review how they are marketing their product.

How the company promotes their product is a strong indication towards their true intent.  Companies like Nintendo® create excellent games, but do not pretend to state these games provide true brain training.  However, other companies like Lumosity® or Posit Science® take a different focus where they support their games by scientific studies.  These are the types of games you want to key on because they are really interested in providing you with a program that will give you better brain and memory functioning.

2. Read customer reviews and try to find a general theme.

Some reviews may appear to be biased in some ways.  However, even after reading a number of reviews, you should get a general feel for what people think about certain products.  In this case, you want to know the people are coming away feeling this product helps them function at a higher level.  If it doesn’t, you should look at other games.

3.  Brain training games are a new industry so results are still in development.

Do not be surprised if you are unable to see a large number of elaborate scientific studies about a certain brain training game.  Since it is a field that is only a couple of years old, it will take some time before these studies are completed and made available to public.  Also, the top companies are constantly adjusting their games to give even a better experience.  These changes and tweeks will result in improved benefits to their customers.
