PBS Brain Fitness Program Showcasing The Value of Posit Science  

Last year, a PBS Brain Fitness Program took a special look into brain training and recent findings of neuroplasticity.  On full display was the co-founder of Posit Science, Dr. Michael Merzenich advocating the benefits of his company’s product, Posit Science.  This discussion offered a number of thing to viewers: 

1.  Highlighted the high points of neuroplasticity. 

This is and was important because neuroplasticity is relatively new science that has debunked the traditional scientific thought the brain was not malleable.  Studies in primates, rats, and humans have shown this to be false.  Basically, we have learned the brain can build new neurons even in old age leading to the new thought that we can improve our brain functioning and potentially diminish or counteract the negative effect of diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia.

2.  Provided an in-depth look into how Posit Science taps into these principles. 

The pbs brain fitness program highlighted how Posit Science’s Brain Fitness Classic program helped utilize these neuroplasticity findings to create a product that truly helps people improve their auditory skills.  It discussed some of the different games available and how they worked to improve these cognitive skills. 

3.  More recent findings show their programs work. 

More importantly, is that more recent studies have shown this program to be very effective.  The most notable is the IMPACT study performed by the Mayo clinic which acknowledged these programs benefits in improving short term memory and processing speed.  Similar studies have shown similar results with regard to their visual skills product as well.   

The result of these findings and the PBS brain fitness program has been a great deal of interest in Posit Science brain training games.  Considering the support and effectiveness of this company, we expect the demand to continue to grow.
