Benefits

·          Dr. Nick Hodgson has a knack for simplifying very complex medical terms in a way that is easy to understand. Some of his real life metaphors are very good for simplifying harder to grasp concepts of brain functioning.

·          Excellent source for general medical knowledge on brain functioning.

·          Also, provides key information on what impact various drugs and chemicals have on brain activity and performance.

Drawbacks

·          May be limited new material for those who are really knowledgeable on brain functioning.

·          Program may not be as elaborate as it could be. Other future products by Nick seem to suggest they will feel this need.

Personal Review

If you come from an academic background, you will find this material extremely fascinating and eye opening. The tone of the program takes on an academic feel. However, if you come from another setting, there will be points where this program seems to drag on. This is not to say the material isn’t useful or accurate, it is. This is just to say that there is a ton of information to absorb and after listening for over 45 minutes, you tend to zone out a little. I would suggest you break up your viewing over two settings and this will make it much more effective.

If you are looking for a quick fix for your memory problems, this program is not for you. Instead, it offers an established process of understanding that can help you make incremental improvements in your life that will help your brain functioning over time. Perhaps the best part about this program is that it provides you access to medical science in a way that is not over most people’s head. It is illustrative and interesting and is a good source for those who do not enjoy reading medical journals and like more direct answers to common questions.
